These terms govern your use of SolveSim. By creating an account or purchasing a subscription, you agree to them. If anything here is a deal-breaker, don’t sign up.
1. What SolveSim is
SolveSim provides assessment-grade simulators inspired by the publicly known format of the Solve Game, along with analytics and learning resources. We are not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by McKinsey & Company, and “McKinsey” is a trademark of its respective owner. SolveSim is a study tool — it does not grant or predict any hiring outcome.
2. Eligibility & account
- You must be at least 16 years old.
- You must provide accurate information and keep it up to date.
- You’re responsible for your account’s security. Don’t share credentials.
- One person per account. Seats are not transferable without our written consent.
3. Acceptable use
Don’t do things that would get you fired from a consulting firm:
- No scraping, reverse-engineering, or redistributing simulator content.
- No sharing accounts, scores, or answer keys.
- No automated play, scripted solvers, or attempts to game the scoring.
- No uploading malicious code, spam, or illegal content.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section. Egregious violations may be reported to the employer you’re prepping to interview at.
4. Payments, renewals, and no-refund policy
Paid plans (Ops, Squadron) bill monthly or annually in advance through Stripe. Subscriptions auto-renew until you cancel. You can cancel anytime from Billing; cancellation stops the next renewal but does not refund the current period.
All sales are final. We do not offer refunds, prorated or otherwise, once a billing period has begun. This includes missed usage, forgotten cancellations, and change of circumstance.
EU/UK users — digital content waiver. By starting a subscription or running a paid simulator session, you expressly consent to the immediate provision of digital content and acknowledge that you lose your 14-day right of withdrawal under the EU Consumer Rights Directive and UK Consumer Rights Act. This waiver is presented and re-confirmed at checkout.
We reserve the right to change plan pricing. Price changes apply to the next billing period after reasonable notice (at least 30 days by email).
5. Free diagnostic runs
Each account gets one free run of each live simulator. Free runs don’t expire, but we may change their scope as the product evolves.
6. Intellectual property
SolveSim (the simulators, scoring rubrics, content, brand, code) is owned by us. You get a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for personal practice.
Your session data — your decisions, your scores — is yours. By using the service you give us a worldwide, royalty-free license to store, process, and aggregate that data so we can provide the service and build anonymized cohort benchmarks and research.
7. Disclaimers
- We provide the service “as is,” without warranty of any kind.
- We don’t guarantee the simulator is available at any particular moment, free of bugs, or identical to the official assessment.
- Scores are directionally predictive, not an official assessment result.
- We don’t guarantee any employment or interview outcome.
8. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent allowed by law, our total liability for any claim is capped at the greater of the fees you paid us in the 12 months preceding the claim, or $100 USD. We’re not liable for lost opportunities, lost offers, emotional distress, or any indirect damages.
9. Termination
You can terminate at any time by deleting your account from Settings. We can terminate accounts that violate these terms. On termination, access ends immediately; data retention is governed by the Privacy Policy.
10. Changes to the service or these terms
We may update the simulators, features, and these terms. We’ll announce material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use after that date means you accept the update.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of [jurisdiction TBD]. Disputes are resolved in the courts of that jurisdiction. If you live in the EU/UK, nothing here limits your mandatory statutory rights as a consumer.
